Jadukata River

The Jadukata River, originally known as Renuka, has a fascinating and somber legend behind its name. According to local lore, a mother living on the riverbank was cutting a large fish with her son, Jadu, on her lap. Distracted, she accidentally cut her own child, and from this tragic tale, the river came to be known as Jadukata ("cut by Jadu").
